Kenyan Tourism Leaders Face Jail

It shows how they have no kind spirit for the national and all they care about is their personal needs. Currently no board of directors has been appointed thus leaving the post vacant.

It was reported to be a great disappointment to the tourism Sector and such people were not to be forgiven. Unfortunately Dr. Achieng the CEO of the Kenya Tourist Board, was given a prison term of three years in detention and he was to pay a fine of 1.5 million Kenya Shillings. Just in case he failed to pay, they would increase his years of jail. Ms Nabutola was sentenced for four years and still pay a fine of 2 million Kenya Shillings. Duncan Muriuki a prominent member of the KTB board of directors was imprisoned for 7 years with an additional of paying 18.3 million Kenya Shillings. Although the main people behind this deal were mainly Nabutola and Achieng who ordered the transaction to take place.

Finally time has come for the suspects to be handled over to the courts of law; they are alleged of mishandling the funds that were to boost the tourism industry of Kenya. And these include Dr. Achieng Ongonga, Duncan Muriuki and Ms Rebecca Nabutola, a former Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary.

The government of Kenya has worked hard to see that its tourism industry develops and when such people are identified, they are supposed to be punished heavily. It shows how they have no kind spirit for the national and all they care about is their personal needs. Currently no board of directors has been appointed thus leaving the post vacant. Rumors were all over the country and these come right from the Kenya's tourism industry, investigation had to take place until they convicted these colleagues. Caution goes to all leaders of Kenya to be willing to serve the national without malice. The tourism sector contributes a lot to the economy of the Kenya and so we should aim at preserving and investing a lot of money to its sustainability.
