Kent Moving Goes Green with a New Partnership with Greenfleet

Kent Moving has partnered with Greenfleet in the new 'Kent Native Forests Regeneration Program'.

Kent Moving has launched a new green initiative to help plant trees around Australia. In this program, after every move with Kent, the customer will be sent an e-mail with a Removal Plan Number and PIN, linking you to the survey. For every completed CSI online survey, Kent Moving will plant one native tree in the program.

"We at Kent Moving are fully committed to green initiative," said Executive Chairman Graham Kent. "This program is an excellent opportunity for the company to give back to the community. We like to think that in our own small way we're helping in the fight against global warming."
Greenfleet is a registered environmental charity. Its mission is to avoid and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In an effort to offset other greenhouse gases, Greenfleet has planted nearly 7 million trees all around Australia.

The International Year of Forests kicked off last February 2, 2011 in Washington D.C. This year was declared the International Year of Forests by the United Nations General Assembly in order to raise awareness on the conservation and renewal of all types of forests around the world. This year everyone is encouraged to celebrate the role of forests in the Earth's ecosystem and how people can help sustain that role. People can play a vital role in sustainable management, and the conservation of the Earth's many diverse forest ecosystems.

Forests have always provided shelter to man since prehistory. They have been a source of food, medicinal plants and fresh water. In the delicate balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide, forests offset people's carbon dioxide emissions making this planet habitable for every living organism.

Global warming can cause huge impacts on the Australian ecosystem. There may be reduced water availability because of extended periods of drought. Rainfall will be scarcer and they may be changed seasonality meaning longer dry periods and a shorter rainy season. Sea levels will rise and there will be increased storms and fluctuating sea levels. There will be more demands on energy. There might be a need to initiate a major infrastructure overhaul because the old buildings might not be able to cope with the increased temperature and winds. Diseases from mosquitoes may rise because the insects may enter new areas of the country.

Greenfleet believes that to win the fight against global warming, people should not only avoid and reduce their carbon imprint but participate in offsetting as well. Carbon dioxide released in the past is still wreaking havoc on the atmosphere. Forests can greatly lower the existing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and transform it into breathable oxygen. You can help offset carbon pollution by planting new trees through Greenfleet. Spread the word about the conservation program or make donations. Reduce your own carbon imprint and save the world for future generations. Greenfleet encourages people to help in their own way
