Kaplan's Enterprises Plans Grand Re-Opening Celebration
96-year-old, Easton-based firm will hold grand re-opening celebration April 27.
EASTON, Pa., April 23, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Kaplan’s Enterprises, a 96-year-old, family-owned custom awning business, will hold a grand reopening reception on Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 1298 Spruce St., Easton, Pennsylvania. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. The event is open to the public.
Grand reopening attendees may view Kaplan's unique cutting and sewing operations, as well as view how the local business constructs its signature awnings on-site. The Spruce Street location also features a large showroom with hundreds of fabric awning swatches and samples from leading brands, as well as an array of interior window treatments.
“The new location enables the business to run more efficiently,” says Randi Kaplan, adding that the family business has moved several times since its founding in 1923. Kaplan's was a mainstay in Easton's Historic District for several decades.
First located on Bushkill Street in Easton, Kaplan’s was founded in 1923 by Morris Kaplan and has been manufacturing and installing custom awnings for 96 years. Second generation Sid Kaplan then assumed and oversaw all operations, and today, third-generation siblings, Randi and David Kaplan, are at the helm. The brother and sister team have been involved with the business since they were children. “If you were big enough to use a pair of scissors, you would help cut out the awnings,” recalls Randi.
Additionally, Kaplan's offers American, military and City of Easton flags in a variety of sizes and selections. The family-owned business also carries decorative banners and various flag accessories. Kaplan’s services the greater Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas, including New Jersey.
Kaplan’s Enterprises is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by appointment. For more information about Kaplan’s Awnings, visit www.kaplanawning.com or call 610-258-5319.
