'José Saves the Day,' From Jennifer Connell, Follows a Young Boy Who Tries to Find Courage in Facing a Life-Threatening Allergy

New release from author Jennifer Connell, 'José Saves the Day' is an educational story geared towards helping kids be brave in needing to take shots and other life-saving medicines

Jennifer Connell is a part of Kelsey's Kaleidoscope, an organization named for her daughter who suffers from dada2, a rare auto-immune disease that requires constant injections, among other treatments. Working with Mary Wagner (author of "Kelsey Hates the Needle") and Krystal Almora (illustrator for both "Kelsey Hates the Needle" and "José Saves the Day"), they hope to find a cure for Kelsey's disease and help her and other kids all over the world.

"José Saves the Day" follows the titular character, José, getting ready for the Halloween party at his school. During the festivities, he has a dangerous encounter with some peanuts that requires him to get an allergy injection. The whole situation leaves him feeling sad and confused, but later that night, he has a dream that teaches him that maybe it's not so scary needing to get a shot.

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, "José Saves the Day" is an informative and inspiring story for any child who suffers from a sickness that requires them to get an injection or other intimidating treatments. Whether it be allergies or something more severe, José's story is one that can resonate with anyone in a similar situation.

Readers who wish to experience this beneficial work can purchase "José Saves the Day" at bookstores everywhere or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
