Johnny Depp Smokes An Electronic Cigarette

The first Hollywood movie where electronic cigarette gets a lot of attention.

I'm back home from watching the movie "The Tourist". The first movie ever where I've seen anyone smoking an electronic cigarette. I'll give the movie 6/10 (how could I give Johnny less!) and I'll give it extra prize for introducing electronic cigarettes to the wider public.

E-cigarettes have been gaining in popularity since quite some time now and this was quiet evident in a recent movie starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. The flick in question is The Tourist, in which a heart broken American man, Frank makes a visit to Italy, where he meets Elise and right through the movie smokes one of these electronic devices and keeps educating Elise about its benefits.

Hopefully, the movie will knock some sense into the vast number of smokers in America. According to the latest statistics available, there are 25.6-million men in America who smoke, while another 22.6-million-women who smoke. And these people end up suffering from the stigma and scorn related to smoking.

However, the new form of smoking might help in bringing down the shame and guilt with smoking, as apart from producing no smoke, they also happen to produce no tar as well. The smoke that is produced through e-cigarette is in vapor form and apart from that also contains nicotine, so in a way it provides the kick of nicotine, without actually damaging the lungs. They are odorless, produce no ash at all and there is nothing known as a second hand smoke in these babies.

I totally agree with the statement of "the new form of smoking might help in bringing down the shame and guilt with smoking".

That's exactly what one of my friends told me after he had converted over to electronic cigarettes:

"That's what sold me on E-cigs before I even tried one. I said to myself... "Wow, I can continue to smoke and stop smoking cigarettes!""

Hope this helps more people to give 'em a try!

As always, spread the word on FaceBook by clicking here.
