John M. Powell's New Book 'Here Come the Romans' is a Scholarly Account That Delves Into the History and Legacy of How the Roman Empire Shaped the New Testament

Recent release 'Here Come The Romans' from Covenant Books author John M. Powell is a sagacious narrative that tackles the reign of Rome during the biblical era of the New Testament and its progressive influence on culture and society.

John M. Powell is a dedicated writer with a bachelor of arts degree in Bible and theology and a master’s in theological studies. He has completed his new book, “Here Come The Romans”: an astute account that discusses the impactful dominance of the ancient Roman Empire in context with historical and scriptural depictions.

John writes, “Here Come the Romans is a progressive survey on the historical influence of Rome and how it influenced the times, events, customs, religious institutions, and specifically the life of Jesus, the Jewish people, and the New Testament. Its progressive style guides the reader through a six-hundred and seventy-five-year period of selected history to educate how Rome fitted the biblical narrative and story. The Bible ascribes divine inspiration to the Scriptures, but we often forget the human side. The birth of prophecy or all Scriptures originated out of human struggles, circumstances, and situations. This book will teach and inform Bible readers on the origins of parties, sects, authorities, and the backgrounds of the times that influenced the writers as they wrote the New Testament books. Rome had its starting point before 605 bc (viz. 753 BC), but its presence in the land of Judea, and Jerusalem, was not solidified until a little more than a half-century before the birth of Christ. It emerged from a simple monarchy, to a senate-ruled republic, into the world’s first major superpower ruled by Caesars and Procurators. The presence of Rome, with Jews and Christians, vastly affected the writings of all twenty-seven books of the New Testament as we have them today.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, John M. Powell’s new book is fit for every Bible scholar to study upon to effectively understand the lives of Jesus Christ and the people of Israel during the Roman occupation.

This book aims to aid the readers in strengthening their wisdom and knowledge of the historical influence of Rome not only to the land of Israel but also to the modern world as written and expounded in the Scriptures.
