Jimmy, a Kid on a Mission to Make the World a Greener Place, Sends a Message to COP21

The Jimmy's Gone Green Foundation releases new children's song - an important message from Jimmy.

The Jimmy’s Gone Green Foundation has released the “Jimmy’s Gone Green Conservation Song.” While the tune may be lighthearted and appealing to young children, the song is an important message from Jimmy to the public and world leaders meeting in Paris for the UN climate conference, known as COP21. Jimmy’s message is simple: conserve energy and water before it’s too late.

Jimmy, a kid on a mission to make the world a greener place, is the main character of the award-winning picture book “Jimmy’s Gone Green: How to Take Care of the Earth and Keep the Environment Clean (A Ten-Step Guide for Kids).” Although we do not hear Jimmy’s voice in the recording, the singer effectively conveys Jimmy’s conservation message to listeners. According to the Jimmy's Gone Green Foundation, an organization based in California, the song was inspired by California’s record-setting drought and was written to encourage children as well as adults to use energy and water wisely.

The Jimmy’s Gone Green Foundation has also launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The purpose of the campaign is to raise money for the Jimmy’s Gone Green Conservation Project, “an environmental education program that inspires kids (and adults!) to conserve energy and water.” According to the organization, the program, designed for children in kindergarten through third grade, was created to promote environmental awareness and to help children and their families adopt habits that have a positive impact on the environment.

About the Jimmy’s Gone Green Foundation: The Jimmy’s Gone Green Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and conservation among children ages 4 to 8.
