Jim Belushi Wants to Help Heal the World, With Cannabis
LOS ANGELES, January 15, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Cannabis farming helped heal Jim Belushi's spirit after life dealt him trauma. Now, he wants his farm to help heal the world. In an exclusive interview with mg Magazine (mgretailer.com), the legendary actor and musician explains the motivation behind Belushi’s Farm, a majestic ninety-three-acre property in southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley. For the past three years, he has surrounded himself with a “dream team” that includes venerated grower Captain Jack, protector of the priceless Gulzar Afghanica cultivar, and his cousin Chris, who acts as general manager.
His primary focus is not the bottom line.
“Is there a higher purpose and does it have to do with John? Certainly,” Belushi said, referring to his celebrated elder brother, who died of an opioid overdose in 1982 at the age of 33. “People lose a family member, whether it’s in a war, car accident, or drug overdose, it collapses a family. My family collapsed.”
Cannabis helped him rebuild. “I’m finding purpose every day, and it all originates from the medicine of this plant,” he said. “Do I see a window where we can help some families through the innocence of this amazing plant? It’s a no-brainer to me. If I break even, people are getting paid, we’re putting money into the community, and people are loving their jobs…”
“mg is dedicated to providing cannabis executives with valuable and relevant information that enables success, and having this unique opportunity to share the story behind Belushi Farms is relatable to so many of our readers,” said mg Magazine publisher Darren Roberts.
