Honouring a promise made when named the 2012 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year, JELD-WEN Windows & Doors Canada recently donated $5,114.00 to the David Suzuki Foundation, with the funds earmarked to launch a campaign on the new Green Economy.

The donation stems for JELD-WEN's pledge to contribute $0.50 for every visit to their ENERGY STAR site, http://en.jeld-wen.ca/energystar, throughout the month of June. The donation was announced in celebration of JELD-WEN's 2012 ENERGY STAR award, their third such award since 2008.

"JELD-WEN is thrilled to be able to donate this sum of money to the David Suzuki Foundation," says Laura Kirk, Senior Marketing Manager of JELD-WEN Canada. "By highlighting how small changes can impact the environmental health of our planet, JELD-WEN is proud to contribute for a greener tomorrow."

JELD-WEN would like to thank our many customers, suppliers and employees for helping promote the initiative through social media, professional networks and among their friends and family. Thanks to their efforts, we are a step closer to a greener economy for tomorrow and a better future for our planet.

The David Suzuki is a national non-profit organization that works with government, business and individuals to conserve our environment by providing science-based research, education and policy work, and acting as a catalyst for the change that today's situation demands.
