Jagran Film Festival Presents '100 Years of Indian Cinema'

Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is an initiative by the Jagran Group to generate a discussion on the various aspects of Cinema and its impact on society and popular culture.

Jagran Film Festival is an initiative by the Jagran Group to let the cultural barriers break by showcasing movies across boundaries and genres to cater to the need of audiences. Celebrating 100 years of cinema, fourth edition of Jagran Film Festival is set to travel 16 cities across 10 states beginning with New Delhi. Before the starting of the main event, a medley of 20 films was showcased from July 1. After the inauguration of the festival on July 5th with the screening of Lootera, short movies, international movies and Indian blockbusters will be showcased. Also, panel discussions will be held by eminent personalities for all the cinema lovers.

With the grand opening of the festival yesterday by the gang of Lootera, Jagran Film Festival began its journey today in Delhi at Siri Fort Auditorium. A whole range of movies, ranging from documentaries, short movies to International movies, were and will be showcased in the next few days. World Panorma, Indian Showcase, Indian Premiere, Jagran Shorts are the categories for the viewers to choose from.

Jagran Shorts is a category where short films of duration 5-30 minutes will be showcased.

As on 6th July, among short movies, Little Ryan (animated), After Glow, Judith, Saari Raat, Gaanje ki kali were showcased. Every movie had its message where came across really well despite the short length of the movie.

In the world Panorma Category, new movies from all around the world were screened. It included Chapman, Six Acts, Harmony Lessons, Heroine to name a few.

Among Indian Premiere, movies that recently have been released will be showcased. This includes Barfi, which will be screened on 7th July, 2013, Bombay Talkies, English Vinglish, Ankur Arora Murder Case on 8th July, Vishwaroopam, Special 26 and Vicky Donor on 9th July.

Also, a new category named Master Class under which panel discussions will be held discussing every aspect of Cinema. In this session, the directors will take you through the journey of Film making. Discussions will be held with eminent personalities.
