Jackson Health Foundation 20th Annual Guardians of the Children Luncheon & Fashion Show Raises More Than $700,000 to Benefit Holtz Children's Hospital
MIAMI, December 18, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Over 500 philanthropists and community leaders attended the 20th Annual Guardians of the Children Luncheon & Fashion Show to benefit Holtz Children’s Hospital at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne on Nov. 20, 2018.
“This year’s luncheon celebrates 20 years of our Guardian Angels, who have dedicated themselves to raising funds for patients in need at Holtz Children’s Hospital,” said Keith R. Tribble, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jackson Health Foundation. “Because of the hard work of our Guardian Angels, we have been able to enhance and expand services at Holtz Children’s for children in need of critical, life-saving care.”
For over 20 years, the Guardian Angels have been a strong philanthropic partner in our community, raising money to fund critical needs of the children at Holtz Children’s Hospital that are not possible with the public bond initiative at Jackson Health System. Since their inception at Jackson Health Foundation, the Guardian Angels have raised more than $28 million for Holtz Children’s Hospital.
The luncheon raised more than $700,000 to support the Holtz Children’s Hospital Pediatric Neurosurgery Program, one of the most highly recognized programs of its kind in the United States.
“We are so excited to support the Pediatric Neurosurgery Program,” said Andria Ares Holtz, chair of the luncheon. “The program, in association with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, provides care for children with brain tumors, head and spinal injuries and other life-threatening conditions.”
Guests were treated to an elegant runway fashion show, sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue Dadeland. The fashion show, curated by Saks Senior Vice President and Fashion Director Roopal Patel, featured new designs from the 2018 Saks IT List.
“We are so thrilled to support the Jackson Health Foundation Guardian Angels,” said Saks Dadeland Vice President and General Manager Juan Carlos Lopez. “For over 20 years, this luncheon has had a tremendous impact on children in need in our community and the outstanding care they receive at Holtz Children’s Hospital.”
The luncheon featured an exciting performance by Grammy-nominated recording artist Flo Rida, a celebrity ambassador for Jackson Health Foundation. Sponsors of the event included Dade County Federal Credit Union; Missy and Jonathan Babicka; Calvin, Giordano & Associates; AON; American Airlines, West Coast University; Marquis Bank; Miami Heat; Perkins & Will; FPL; BNY Mellon Wealth Management; Jeffries; Silvia Rios Fortun; Candido Viyella/Enrique Viyella Morgan Stanley; Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits; and Château D'Esclans Winery.
