International Radon Conference Draws Experts From Around the World
Ward Hill, MA, September 20, 2016 (Newswire.com) - On Sunday, September 18, 2016, the world’s largest gathering of radon experts, the International Radon Symposium, opened its doors at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, California. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this event, which draws attendees and speakers from the United States and around the world.
Held each year by the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST), the Radon Symposium is presented in conjunction with the National Radon Training Meeting of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD). AARST membership consists of radon professionals, including scientists, researchers, educators, testing and mitigation contractors, manufacturers and service providers from the throughout U.S., Canada, and other countries.
CRCPD has a primary membership made up of radiation professionals in state and local government that regulate the use of radiation sources. The event attracts participants and speakers from federal agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as large and small organizations such as the American Lung Association (ALA) and Cancer Survivors Against Radon (CanSAR).
