The International Association of Women (IAW) honors Toni Topps as a 2018-2019 Influencer of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. I believe and live by my military core values: Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do.

After proudly serving her country, Toni Topps set out to become an entrepreneur and start her own commercial lending brokerage firm. But like so many veterans, she found that transitioning from military life to civilian life was difficult. “I was unable to obtain any funding, I also had no direction and no one to guide me,” she said. Undeterred, Ms. Topps began facilitating workshops with other veterans and military family members. “They would talk to me about the same struggles I previously had,” she added.

To fulfill her vision of entrepreneurship and serving others, particularly fellow veterans, Ms. Topps founded Topps Financial Group. Helping individuals get funding for their own businesses and achieve financial freedom, she researches business needs, finds the right lenders, negotiates deals and presents those deals to her clients. She excels when it comes to communication skills, but it is her ability to understand her veteran clients’ needs and their challenges when it comes to transitioning to civilian life that sets her apart. “I believe and live by my military core values: Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do,” Ms. Topps said. “The most rewarding aspect of what I do is seeing how happy my clients are once we solidify the deal and then the reality of their dreams coming true hits them.”

As she grows her business, Ms. Topps will continue with speaking engagements and workshops and is currently writing a book. “I have so many great ideas to help soldiers (active duty or veterans) gain financial freedom, become ‘Vetpreneurs’ and connect how we process things because of our military background,” she added. She is currently working on her Series 6 Licence to help future clients with mutual funds and self-funded 401ks.

Awards & Accomplishments: B.A., Strayer University, Business (Government Contracts and Acquisitions); Associate’s, Community College of Philadelphia, Communications, and Speech; currently pursuing Series 6 License
