InterContinental Asiana Saigon Held Fire Drill

To ensure the security of hotel guests and employees in crisis situations

InterContinental Asiana Saigon - honoured by the prestigious World Travel Awards as Vietnam's Leading Conference Hotel 2013 and Vietnam's Leading Business Hotel 2013 for the second consecutive year and Vietnam's Leading Hotel 2013 for the fourth consecutive year - organised a fire drill involving all hotel associates.

The purpose of the fire drill was to provide tactical experience, sufficient knowledge and training for all hotel members as well as empower them to calmly face and handle all circumstances that might arise during emergencies, especially fire. The fire drill is part of a quarterly Fire and Life Safety practice by InterContinental Asiana Saigon to ensure that the hotel is in line with its goals on safety and security, especially in regards to the technical aspects and equipment.

The management team of InterContinental Asiana Saigon notified all guests of the routine exercise in advance to minimise any disturbance or inconvenience. The Emergency Response Team evacuated all associates using microphones to designated assembly point located in the front of Kumho Asiana Plaza Saigon building. At the assembly point, every head of department performed a head count and report to make sure all associates were safely evacuated.

"Our main priority in the hospitality industry is ensuring the safety of our guests and providing a safe working environment for our colleagues. At InterContinental Asiana Saigon, we always take security and fire prevention seriously. Fire drills are very important because only through practice can we truly learn what to do and how to behave in an emergency. Furthermore, it is also a great opportunity for us to make sure our fire-fighting equipment are in accordance with international standards and guarantee the safety of the people and public and personal property," said Pascal Caubo, Hotel Manager of InterContinental Asiana Saigon.
