InterContinental Asiana Saigon Get Together to Make a Difference and Support the Community.

This is a part of IHG's commitment to "Responsible Business"

The team at InterContinental Asiana Saigon recently organised and participated in several activities that contributed to the local community where the hotel and residences operate.

On 20th September 2013, the InterContinental Asiana Saigon management and team members visited and distributed 20 boxes of clothing, food and toys to Ky Quang Pagoda in Go Vap District, which currently is home to 200 orphaned and disadvantage children aged 1 to 16 years-old. As part of the visit, more than 30 team members organised activities that included feeding the disabled children and a short entertaining 10-minute English class. The pagoda was also excited to receive the donation of a television and a set of loudspeakers from valued tenants living at InterContinental Asiana Saigon Residences.

To further IHG's commitment to "Responsible Business," on 27th September 2013, the hotel and residences team members participated in the IHG Race Around The World at Hoa Lu Stadium to raise funds for the IHG Shelter in the Storm programme.

The IHG Race Around The World is a global fundraising and awareness event for the IHG Shelter in a Storm programme that takes place around the world from 23 to 30 September. IHG is asking all colleagues to pledge kilometres on top of their daily activities such as walking, running, swimming, cycling, etc. For each kilometre pledged, IHG will donate USD1 to the IHG shelter fund up to a maximum of USD300,000.

InterContinental Asiana Saigon participated by organising a 2,000km walk on the morning of 27th September 2013 with participation of more than 100 members raising USD2,000 towards IHG Shelter in the Storm.

"At InterContinental Asiana Saigon, we know and understand that acting responsibly reinforces trust in our hotel and that our customers want to stay with brands that are responsible, and that is why we want to do the right thing for our communities. And with all the support from our associate and valued tenants, we have a tremendous opportunity to prepare the next generation of Vietnamese to be future leaders as well as making a difference in the world," said Mr. Pascal Caubo - Hotel Manager, InterContinental Asiana Saigon.
