London - Intercept IT, one of the UK's leading cloud computing and virtualisation service providers, today announced the appointment of Mark Roberts as its new Sales Director. Joining the Board of Directors, Roberts is tasked with developing the company's sales strategy to enhance significant growth.

Roberts is part of a recent string of strategic executive appointments at Intercept IT including Benjamin Turner, CTO, and Ron Grevink, Marketing Director. The appointments are a step towards the company's aggressive plans to raise Intercept IT's visibility in the cloud computing and virtualisation markets. Intercept IT is one of the UK's original cloud computing pioneers having launched the first multi-tenanted hosted desktop service, OnlineDesktop, back in 2002. Nearly 10 years later, Intercept IT plans to continue to be at the forefront of the cloud sector.

"I am very pleased to accept this prestigious position at Intercept IT. The company has unparalleled expertise as a cloud computing and virtualisation service provider. Focusing on quality and customer satisfaction has provided incredible long standing customer relationships, many since the company began in 2002," says Roberts about his new role.

Most recently, Roberts worked as the Alliance Sales and Business Development Director at NetApp, the storage and data management solutions provider, where he led the organisation's Microsoft and Citrix Alliance Business Development activities across EMEA. In the past, Roberts had various alliance and sales roles at notable world-wide conglomerates including Oracle, Cap Gemini, and Microsoft.

"We are very proud to have Mark Roberts joining the Intercept IT team. We met with many highly skilled candidates during our extensive and rigorous interview process. Mark's combined expertise and passion aligned impeccably with the Intercept IT's mission and he will make an exceptional addition to the Board of Directors," said Richard Gilder, CEO at Intercept IT.
