Intercept IT To Support Crisis At Christmas Charity Project With OnlineDesktop

Intercept IT has partnered with the Aimar Foundation to supply its hosted desktop service, OnlineDesktop, for the Crisis at Christmas project.

London, UK - Intercept IT, the UK's leading cloud computing and virtualisation service provider, is proud to announce it has partnered with the Aimar Foundation to supply its hosted desktop service, OnlineDesktop, to Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people, for the Crisis at Christmas project. This is the third year Intercept IT has partnered with the Aimar Foundation and Crisis for this valuable project.

OnlineDesktop is a hosted Desktop as a Service (DaaS) offering, delivering all an organisation's crucial application and data needs via Intercept IT's bespoke cloud. Intercept IT will supply the OnlineDesktop service as part of a broader solution provided to the Aimar Foundation, an organisation that provides high quality IT solutions to the not-for-profit sector. The project enables Crisis to offer essential IT skills, as well as access and use of the vast information available on the web as a resource for building a better life.

Crisis at Christmas day centres will be open across London from 23-30th December 2011 to offer its guests hot meals, companionship, support and a host of other services including internet access and housing and employment advice. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Crisis at Christmas is expecting more than 2,800 guests to visit its 10 centres.

Simon Clark, CEO of the Aimar Foundation comments, "We are delighted to be working with Intercept IT again, as part of our technology provisioning for Crisis at Christmas. The OnlineDesktop solution will play a vital role in ensuring guests at the Crisis centres have the latest solutions at their fingertips."

Richard Gilder, CEO at Intercept IT said, "This is the third year we have supported the Crisis at Christmas project and we couldn't be more pleased to be helping such a worthy cause. The work of both the Aimar Foundation and Crisis has helped thousands of homeless guests to find safe shelter through the holidays and beyond."

The technical community has come together to make sure this year's project is another success. Intercept IT has teamed up with IGEL, the thin client hardware and software provider, and ComputaCenter, the IT service provider, to help deliver all the IT services required.
