Intercept IT Experiences Significant User And Revenue Growth In Its 2010/2011 Financial Year

Intercept IT, the UK based Citrix Platinum Partner, today announced that user numbers of its cloud application delivery platform have doubled over the past 12 months. The business, which has been delivering bespoke Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solutions to customers across the UK and Europe since 2002, reports that interest in its cloud services began to increase dramatically during the second half of 2010 and this trend continues today.

Ian Readman, Chairman at Intercept IT, commented, "Until 2010 there was a frustrating lack of traction in the whole Desktop as a Service market. This was largely due to a lack of awareness of the real benefits available from hosted IT and specifically hosted application delivery. However; now 'cloud computing' is becoming a familiar term, customer awareness is increasing rapidly and the support being given from Tier 1 vendors such as Citrix and Microsoft is helping to rapidly accelerating both interest and adoption. As one of the very first UK providers of bespoke cloud application delivery services, we are absolutely delighted that we can begin to fully leverage our extensive knowledge and experience in this fast growing market."

Intercept IT not only doubled its public cloud users in 2010/11, but the business also experienced a 38% growth in overall revenues. Intercept IT is forecasting this strong growth to continue in the coming year with increasing familiarity of cloud computing driving adoption. "We have been running a business built on early cloud adopters since 2002. Now with cloud computing finally reaching the masses, growth is inevitable. Many of our customers who migrated to our bespoke cloud solution, OnlineDesktop, over 9 years ago are still with us today, proving its value and putting Intercept IT in a terrific position in the cloud application delivery market," said Richard Gilder, CEO at Intercept IT.

OnlineDesktopTM is a fully managed cloud computing service that delivers software applications and data via Intercept IT's own infrastructure platform, which is housed in powerful, purpose-built data centres. So rather than each business having to manage a costly internal IT system, it becomes possible to rent IT as a utility service through the Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solution, on a cost-per-user, per-month, subscription basis.
