Insight Marketing Group on End-of-Year Planning

This is a demanding time at Insight Marketing Group. The team is preparing for the final quarter of the year and planning for 2016.

“When we refer to end-of-year planning, people automatically assume we’re ramping up to finish the year with a bang,” said Nicole H., Insight Marketing Group’s president. “The truth is, we’re simply enacting a strategy that we’ve had in place for a while. Right now, we’re looking toward 2016.”

Nicole explained how the Insight Marketing Group managers establish the following year’s budget the previous year in order to be prepared on January 1. “If you’re waiting until post-holidays to plan for your new year, you’re doing a great disservice to your business,” Nicole stated. “You need to plan for the next year early in the fourth quarter. This will allow you to have your resources in place and ready to go forward once the calendar year changes.”

"We work with each team member to understand which of their skills they feel would be best to enhance, and we discuss our own observations,"

“The strategy is to produce measurable goals you can track all year long,” Nicole shared. “If you focus on just waiting to see the end results, you’ll be unpleasantly surprised. Instead, if you commit to accomplishing milestones quarterly or even weekly, you can continually assess and readjust your plan accordingly throughout the year. This best practice will allow you to assess your position at all times. Your final results will not be surprising.”

Nicole added that ongoing tracking and reviewing data allows the team to adequately forecast the next year’s plan. “We have an idea of where we’re performing well and where we need to step up the volume quickly,” she said. “Our goal is always to raise the bar, so this information gives us the necessary knowledge to achieve higher goals.”

Insight Marketing Group on Training

Another year-end discussion at Insight Marketing Group centers on the need to prepare team members for upcoming opportunities. “As we solidify our 2016 plans, we carefully review the development needs of our team as well,” Nicole shared. “This is vital with regard to our progressive advancement policy. We need to continually ensure our team has the equipment and tools needed not only to serve the brands we promote, but to learn and grow as well.”

“We work with each team member to understand which of their skills they feel would be best to enhance, and we discuss our own observations,” Nicole added. “We incorporate our people’s goals into our preparations for the following year.”

Nicole concluded by stating, “Being a forward-thinking group means more to us than simply having futuristic ideas. We’re constantly forecasting and planning our next move. It’s the reason we continue to expand.”
