Industry Veteran Jody Orme Named as CEO and Director of U.S. Vanadium
Hot Springs, AR, October 17, 2019 (Newswire.com) - U.S. Vanadium Holding Company LLC (“U.S. Vanadium”) today announced the appointment of Jody Orme as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. As CEO and Director of U.S. Vanadium, Mr. Orme will help lead the Company’s planned production expansion of high-purity vanadium and other vanadium-based industrial chemicals at its Hot Springs, Arkansas facility, which it recently acquired from Evraz Stratcor.
A veteran of more than 20 years in the steel, vanadium, and alloys industries, Mr. Orme was CEO of Evraz Stratcor prior to the U.S. Vanadium acquisition and served as its Chief Financial Officer for three years prior.
Previously, Mr. Orme served in senior positions in a number of steel, vanadium, and alloy companies, including at the second-biggest steel producer in South Africa.
Mr. Orme holds separate degrees in Information Technology and Accounting Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He also holds an M.B.A. in Finance and is a registered Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
U.S. Vanadium’s Hot Springs facility can produce V2O5 at the very high purity levels required by demanding applications such as maleic anhydride catalyst, bismuth vanadate pigments and vanadium redox flow batteries. It also produces a suite of downstream vanadium-based chemicals for customers in the catalyst, chemical, petrochemical, titanium, and energy storage industries.
