“It has been a privilege to celebrate the grace, strength and wisdom of UAE’s mothers who have raised the model citizens of this country, a beacon for the entire world. We are blessed to have been showered with love and affection from the members of GWU who visited us with tokens of their culture through handicrafts that we are proudly displaying at our outlets as a symbol of our respect and high regard for the UAE.” Said Beena Muralya on the evening of the elebration.

GWU was established and is chaired H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak. Their core responsibilities include the empowerment of the women population of the UAE and an increase in the role they play in and around the local community.

Lulwa Al Hamidi, Director of Heritage Department of Industries of GWU added, “The management of the Crafts and Heritage industries of the General Women’s Union would like to thank India Palace Restaurant for the invitation to the Emirati mothers of GWU to celebrate the UAE’s Mother of Nation Festival. The restaurant has displayed its generous patronage to the Mother’s Day ceremony as a recognition of the Emirati Women’s role in the development of the nation and the preservability of heritage through displaying the traditional handicrafts at their restaurant chain, which reflects the strong ties shared by the UAE and India.

“This event was a small way of giving thanks and showing appreciation to the UAE for the way it has embraced expatriates to live and work here. We are indebted to this country and its people for nurturing our growth.” says K Muraleedharan, Managing Director of SFC Group. “On the occasion of UAE Mother’s Day, we wanted to honour the women of the nation, and we are honoured to have this opportunity to work so closely with a community that has been set up by the mother of the nation H.
