New Delhi, January 6, 2011: Kotak Mahindra Bank, one of India's leading private sector banks, along with NRI Matters.com received the 'Biggest NRI sign-up campaign for a cause' award from India Book of Records for its NRI Power Podium initiative today. This initiative was launched by NRI Matters.com, on November 6, 2010 in association with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Experience Commerce and Makemytrip. The objective was to find three NRIs who had the knowledge and drive to bring about a noteworthy change and champion three worthy causes: Legal, Culture and Investment. NRIs were eligible to cast their vote once, for multiple causes and the campaign got 13,040 signups between November 7, 2010 and December 10, 2010.
This podium provided NRIs with the opportunity to make a difference to the NRI community at large by asking the right questions, starting a debate, all aimed at the who's who of India including very senior Government of India officials.

The three NRI Power Podium contest winners are Arminder Singh, a software professional from United States, Neena, a banker from United Arab Emirates, and Karan Ratti, currently doing his MS in Biological Sciences at New York University. They will now get an all-expense-paid opportunity to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 7-9th January 2011, Delhi, and will be able drive their concerns and issues at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
Kotak Mahindra Bank now a Premium Knowledge Partner with Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) is also participating at the CII - Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2011 to be held between January 7 - January 9, 2011 at New Delhi, to offer its Investment Advisory services specifically customised to suit the personal financial needs of Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
