The Inchbald School of Design is delighted to announce the inauguration of two online degree courses validated by the University of Wales and leading to a Master's qualification. The Online Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design and the Online Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design are the first of their kind to be validated by a university.

The Online Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design is a three-year part-time course aimed at graduates who wish to pursue a career as a professional designer. Through intensive study and practical design projects, enhanced by detailed investigations of the way we experience and perceive the spaces we occupy, students develop professional design skills and an assured approach to interior design.

The Online Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design is also aimed at career-orientated professionals and is part time over three years. The garden design course addresses the role of a garden designer, design implementation, plant knowledge and planting design, and is complemented by explorations into design philosophy and theory. By the end of the course, every student will have the knowledge and skills they require to become a professional garden designer.

A bespoke course website gives students full access to their course materials for study online or offline, and enables communication with tutors and fellow students. Students benefit from a high level of individualised tutorial support and participate online in forums, seminars and live discussions to present and discuss their design ideas and proposals with their fellows.

Jacqueline Duncan, Founder and Principal of Inchbald School of Design, comments; "The Inchbald School of Design has long been at the forefront of design education. I am delighted that these two online courses have been validated by the University of Wales, not only marking our 50th Anniversary year but also celebrating the school's progressive approach to education. To be recognized by the University of Wales, renowned for its creative and art based courses, is a particular honour."
