IIHMR Bangalore Invites Entries for Their International Healthcare Conference, Adwitya 2016

IIHMR Bangalore is organising their annual international healthcare conference, Adwitya 2016, in association with IIM Ahmedabad. The objective of the conference is to improve the overall healthcare delivery system in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

The Indian healthcare industry is expected to touch USD 280 Billion by 2020. The reasons attributed to this rapid growth are growing population and economy, shift in demographics, rise in disposable income, health insurance, increase in incidence of lifestyle-related diseases, rising literacy, tax benefits, and medical tourism. Despite this, the Indian healthcare sector faces huge challenges. India was placed at a crushing 112th position out of 190 countries in WHO’s ranking of healthcare systems of the world. This is validated by the fact that a minute 4.2% of the GDP of India is spent on healthcare, of which, public health spending is a minuscule 1.2%. Compare to the 3% in China and 8.3% in the US, India continues to lack in its healthcare delivery and services. To address these issues, the theme of Adwitya 2016 is, “Engendering Health” which refers to the creating of high quality of healthcare for all.

Adwitya 2016 is a conference to explore and understand the various aspects of health. It is going to act as a platform to provide and share the best practices and innovative ideas in healthcare industry. Some of the topics that will be touched upon at the conference will be Public Health, Hospital Management, Nutrition, Diabetes management, Access to medicine, Pharmacy, Disease Management, Healthcare Informatics, HIT, and others.
