If Pandora, Instagram and Clothing Had a Baby, You'd Have the Tailored App.
Los Angeles, CA, February 5, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Available now, the Tailored app's newest release combines the look of Instagram with the streaming and personalized qualities of Pandora, then throws apparel in the middle. It’s not a traditional clothing app, not even close.
The app streams images of new apparel available in a user’s size and fit, changing the way they navigate the online shopping experience. When someone is looking to add to their wardrobe, they simply open the app and browse their feed. Each user’s feed is customized to them, containing only items that are a match to their size and fit. The app pulls in styles from brands all over the world and stays updated year round. No need to shop around, it’s all right there in one place.
"People don’t have a lot of time for anything now days, so we wanted to create something that would take some of the time and effort out of shopping. Once a user sets up a Tailored profile, the app constantly searches for new items for that user. Tailored narrows the playing field from all available clothing to items matching their input.” remarked Tailored President and Co-founder Dave Desmarais.
Tailored released beta 2.0 in December of 2015. Then after a chance meeting with a former Google Plus project manager in the same month, they went to work implementing some of his genius.
“We were sitting next to each other at a sushi bar in southern California and just started chatting. He wanted to see the beta, so I sent it over, and a few hours later I had a two page email filled with ideas, constructive criticisms and praise.” said Tailored CEO and Co-founder Kristy Desmarais.
The result of the encounter and Tailored’s efforts are what’s currently available in the App Store for iPhone and iPad, Tailored 2.1.
Behind the scenes Tailored is developing a machine-learning technology that will enhance their platform even further. They believe it will even be powerful enough to stand on its own as a separate technology outside of the app.
Tailored is currently working with over 40 brands and continues to add more each week. They're a startup that has been bootstrapped since inception but has hinted they will soon begin seeking funding.
