Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven 3104 and 3124 Extender Systems Provide Best-in-Class Isochronous Device Support
ExtremeUSB-C is the only backwards-compatible extension technology for USB 3-2-1 up to 100m over CAT6a/7 cable or 200m over fiber optics
SAN JOSE, Calif. & TOKYO, July 15, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Icron, the developer of ExtremeUSB® and ExtremeUSB-C™ extension technologies, today announced the Raven 3104 and 3124 extender systems will receive updated firmware to allow for improved quality and interoperability with video streaming devices such as USB cameras and USB video capture peripherals. The Raven 3104 and 3124 continue to provide the broadest support of USB cameras in the market with 11 manufacturers certified for use. More information can be obtained from Icron’s interoperability webpage.
In addition to the new isochronous capability, the Raven 3104 and 3124 continue to provide industry-leading USB power availability of 6W per USB port, 33 percent more than the standard 4.5W. With its unique 1Gbps Ethernet side-channel feature, users can also connect a network-enabled device to the extender or re-use an existing cable infrastructure without blocking network connectivity.
“Improved isochronous support expands Icron’s Raven USB 3-2-1 technology to support real-time performance for the streaming of high-quality audio, UHD cameras and capture cards,” said Thomas Schultz, senior business manager at Icron. “Integrators and OEMs continue to rely on Icron to adapt to the ever-evolving ecosystem of USB by delivering high-performance technology that’s easy to use.”
