Hyperco Showcases New Conical Springs, Expands Conventional Spring Line for Motor Racing Applications

Conical Spring

Hyperco, an MW Industries company, will showcase its newest products, conical springs and the expanded conventional spring line, at the Performance Racing Industry Show, December 6-8, 2018. The products will be highlighted in both the Featured Product Showcase and Hyperco’s booth, 4401.

Ideally suited for motor racing applications, the conical springs, a suspension coil-over, are designed to provide a linear spring rate from free length to solid height while tapering from a 2.5-inch inner diameter (ID) to a 5-inch outer diameter (OD).

They have a 2.5-inch ID at one end, as is used on the most popular coil-over springs and the other end is a 5-inch OD like a conventional rear spring. The 5-inch OD body diameter helps prevent bowing issues on this long, light-rate, high-deflection spring. With the proper hardware, they can be used as coil-overs or conventional mount springs.

Specific applications include rear suspension setups for circle track, pavement late model and dirt late model racing. The 95#/inch and 110#/inch conical springs are offered in 18-inch free length, with the 125#/inch available in 16-inch free length.

Hyperco has also expanded the Y-Series 5-inch OD front conventional spring product line to include a 10.5-inch free length version. This spring has one end open and one end closed and ground. The Y-Series springs are ideal for motor racing applications including front suspension setup for circle track, street stock, hobby stock, dirt modified and all classes of racing requiring “big springs.”
