Breath of Fresh Air with a Splash of Tequila
Customers choose Huey Luey’s for its traditional menu favorites such as tacos, burritos, fajitas and nachos, as well as the restaurant’s dishes that nod to American tastes, including its Southern BBQ Brisket tacos or Grilled Hot Wings that are “sauced” tableside with Huey Luey’s own Smooth Mexican Hot Sauce. Everything is handcrafted and house-made and inspired by authentic recipes from regions throughout Mexico and around the U.S. It is purposefully intended to be an infusion of the two cultures. The restaurant uses only fresh ingredients and prides itself on sourcing no ingredients from cans or frozen packaging.
“We are unique in that we feature specialty dishes created by experienced cooks who incorporate flavors from their hometowns in various parts of Mexico,” says Jason Salisbury, General Manager, Huey Luey’s Sandy Springs. “We encourage our cooks to experiment with new flavors and dishes that reflect everything from old world tastes to the latest Americana cuisine. Our customers appreciate that we are foodies at heart, but thoughtful in our pricing and specials.”
Huey Luey’s tequila cabinet—stocked with more than 200 tequilas and mezcals—is one of the most extensive and diverse collections in the metro Atlanta area. Its progressive margarita menu features several fresh squeezed and seasonal flavors, served up by the company’s highly trained, creative and knowledgeable bartenders. General Manager Jason Salisbury, Bar Manager, Caesar Fajardo and Kitchen Manager, Prokop Skoda will serve as the management team for the Sandy Springs location.
A Twist on Real Estate
Founded by restaurateurs with almost 30 years of industry experience, Huey Luey’s opened its first location in Hiram in 2011 and its second location in Acworth a few years later. The company has a knack for turning real estate formally occupied by big-box retail into unique spaces perfect for Huey Luey’s. The Sandy Springs location, formally a Staples, will feature an open design styled with a modern, industrial feel and a vibrant color palette.
“After having visited countless full-service restaurants with my family, I realized the traditional real estate model was tired,” continues Stoll. “The Huey Luey’s design puts our guests on a mental vacation. From our roof-top views to lengthy bar rails, guests almost feel transported from their everyday lives.”
Charitable Partnership
Huey Luey’s commitment to the community runs deep across all three of its locations. Stoll serves on the Board of Directors and has a deep relationship with Murphy-Harpst Children’s Center, a non-profit committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected young people through residential treatment, placements in specialized foster care and community programs that serve at-risk children and their families. In fact, for every Huey’s Gigantic “Burrote” sold, a percentage of sales goes to the organization. Additionally, during the Sandy Spring’s Grand Opening, 25 percent of all sales will be donated to support Murphy-Harpst.
Huey Luey’s is located at 6650 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m on Friday and Saturday. on Sundays. The restaurant phone number is 678-905-7241.
