How to Install Storage & Pallet Rack with Low Cost

The production division of any industry has the need to store goods for which they all require storage shelves. These are indispensable for their storing and delivery activities. Understanding this requirement, a new way of storage is introduced. This is nothing but the storage tool - pallet racks. As the name indicates, these are used for storing various industrial products. This rack contains several plates on which the user can place the products.

Storage tool has become very popular everywhere mainly due to its efficiency in space management and capability to store the maximum number of products in minimal area. Warehouses and storage departments are the two major places where such storage tools get used.

Though it is a mere storage tool, the user ought to take good care in making the choice. There are numerous industries across the world and each one of them has their own need for storing the products. Hence, such kind of pallet rack shelves is designed in a way that it is compatible to any sort of industry. The design is made very compact and thus it requires very less space. This in turn simplifies the task of forklift truck movement.

These storage tools come with a couple of units. To name a few: bolt connection, selective pallet, pallet flow, push back pallet, double deep selective, drive through pallet and so on.

In the recent days, most industries show interest in making use of mobile pallet racks. These are racks that are easily portable. They contain wheels at the bottom and have anti-lock brakes. As these wheels are heavy duty in nature, these can be easily moved from place to place.

Out of the several models available, there are three major models that are widely preferred and most popular. They are:

• Drive-in
• Drive-through
• Push back

As the first step to install the pallet rack, the place of installation has to be measured. The distance from the wall wherein the rear beam will get placed should be measured and marked using a chalk. In case of a 1200 pallet, marking should be made at 400 mm distance. The next step is to marking made to place the base plate. Place the first bay over this by drilling a deep hole using heavy duty hammer drill.

Further to this, attach the second bay to the first one. Care should be taken such that these are aligned on a straight line. Before drilling the hole, measure out the dyna hole length. Based on this measurement, drill the hole that can carry the entire dyna. The same procedure for installing the second bay should be repeated for all further installations of third, fourth and furthermore bays.
