How our children could be the answer to the recession

Leading coaching company Julianmiles Limited has launched KidsRthebiz, a young entrepreneur schools programme for children aged 7-11. KidsRthebiz is an educational programme where children are taught business basics while learning key life skills.

It combines an academic curriculum with hands-on experiences and the business skills taught are both challenging and enjoyable for the children. They develop communication, public speaking, confidence, and team building skills.

"Children are never too young to grasp business basics. They may not start business for a few years but they are soon introduced to the possibility of creating one through interests that they already have," says Educator and Life Coach, Bukky Olaleye, who has spent several years working with children in schools and within the local community.

"In my experience, children have an amazing capacity to understand seemingly complex concepts, as long they are explained in terms they understand. Children are creative, imaginative and fearless; all good characteristics of a successful entrepreneur."

KidsRthebiz uses children's knowledge of the core subjects; numeracy and literacy, in real-life scenarios, while developing their personal and social education. Through the activities, three parts of the Every Child Matters document are met. The children take part in activities they enjoy and through which they find out how to make a positive contribution. They are also being taught how to achieve their economic wellbeing.

It is increasingly apparent that traditional career paths are no longer guaranteed; therefore it is important to provide children, at an early age, with alternatives to achieving economic independence. KidsRthebiz is committed to developing the entrepreneurial potential of tomorrow's business leaders.

At the end of the interactive two and half hour session the children not only understand
