Hollywood Gem, Kiva Team Partner to Support Artisans Worldwide
Hollywood Gem, an Ottawa-based online jewelry retailer, is partnering with the non-profit organization Kiva to give Local Artisans worldwide the financial support they need to build and scale their business.
Ottawa, Ontario , October 13, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Hollywood Gem, an Ottawa-based online jewelry retailer, is teaming up with the non-profit organization Kiva to give Local Artisans worldwide the financial support they need to build and scale their business.
Kiva is an online lending platform that combats poverty by making small loans to borrowers who either have low income or otherwise risk not having their loan request approved by commercial banks. Hollywood Gem, which specializes in Hollywood inspired fashion jewelry, will donate 10 percent of all product sales to the Shoppers for Kiva initiative.

Shoppers for Kiva also encourages people to sign up to be lenders. Hollywood Gem hopes to benefit artisans like Ghana native Sinclair, who makes hand-carved African wood masks and sculptures. He borrowed money to invest in raw materials including wood, beats, paint, nails, polish and sandpaper.
