Hollywood Celebrates Victory Day

In honor of May 9 in Hollywood 300 St. George's ribbons were distributed.

Operating in Hollywood was a distribution point for St. George's ribbons - symbols of wartime valor and glory. The initiator of the drive, which was held in more than 90 different countries, was Hollywood actress of Russian descent Gia Skova.

"I participated in the drive for the first time, but I'm glad I was able to join in honoring the memory of the war's heroes. We gave out all the ribbons we had. In particular, I was pleasantly surprised by the considerable interest in our drive on the part of the youth," comments Gia Skova.

Expressly for this drive, Gia's friends in Moscow supplied her with 500 ribbons. The St. George's ribbons distribution points operated around-the-clock in two cities - Florida and Los Angeles (Hollywood district). During these days, visitors were able to receive consultation on how to correctly fasten a St. George's ribbon. As a reminder, the procedure and drive Codex stipulate attaching ribbons to bags, clothing lapels and automobile antennas.

Official partners of the drive included such companies as State Corporation Rosatom, Credit Union Moi Dom, OAO OTP Bank and others.
