HolistiCyber Survey: Organizations Remain Committed to Cybersecurity Budgets
Especially in the larger financial services industry, budget owners don't expect to reduce spend
NEW YORK, July 28, 2020 (Newswire.com) - HolistiCyber, the nation-state grade cyber defense experts, today announced the results of a survey the company conducted titled “What Are Security Professionals Focusing on During COVID-19.” The survey asked cybersecurity professionals across 13 industries how the pandemic will affect a variety of initiatives within their cybersecurity programs. The results show overwhelmingly that cybersecurity budgets will not be negatively affected as a result of COVID-19.
Forty-five percent of respondents believe that cybersecurity budgets will not change as a result of the virus, and 31.4 percent anticipate an increase in cybersecurity budgets. Further, the survey showed that companies are focused on increasing business continuity (76 percent) and remote security policy (also 76 percent) as a result of the virus, which makes sense given companies have had to create robust work-from-home programs.
“COVID-19 has changed how business is conducted; however, our findings note that it will not deprioritize cybersecurity initiatives or budgets,” said Ran Shahor, CEO of HolistiCyber. “Regardless of the virus, organizations across all industries have to be vigilant about cyberattacks, their preparedness for them and how to keep their business continuity programs intact.”
