Abi's Place is a family-oriented, non-profit school for children with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. They use a functional life skills curriculum to teach our children to express themselves, interact with others, explore their environment, and perform daily living skills. Their school creates a smaller world for exceptional children in order to prepare them for the bigger world ahead.

The facility is a fun and safe learning environment that provides a one-to one child-to-adult ratio unlike any other school for children with disabilities in this area. Abi's Place offers an individualized student education that includes communication, gross and fine motor skills, school readiness, training in daily life skills, as well as rehabilitation services and comprehensive family support.

At Abi's Place, families are always encouraged to participate, observe and/or volunteer. Danielle Zimmerman, the school's founder, is a parent of a child with special needs and understands the importance of education and independence for your child. Abi's place is here for individuals in need and for their child, and they are eager to make a difference in their lives. They have created a school where children, regardless of the mental and physical disabilities, could Live, Laugh and Learn!
