Extraordinary piece of D-Day Memorabilia to sell at auction - 48 Star Ensign flown aboard LCT 530 during D-Day Operations - June 6th, 1944
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., November 22, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Centurion Auctions is pleased to offer the historically important WWII D-Day Flag flown on-board LCT 530 (Landing Craft Tank) as it took part in Utah Beach Operations at Normandy on D-Day. This one-of-a-kind Flag would be an excellent complement to any collection or a wonderful addition to a museum collection. Very few D-Day flown flags are known to exist in the market. Do not look past this exceedingly rare opportunity to own an extraordinarily special piece of history, from one of the most significant military events of the 20th century. The Allied Invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944 (D-Day), involved nearly 160,000 Allied Troops (half of whom were American). The D-Day Invasion, and the sacrifice of those involved, signaled a turning point in the WWII European theater, and contributed largely to the defeat of Germany.
The Flag of LCT 530 is Lot 25362 of an 800 Lot Military and Wartime Collectibles Auction. The public auction is open to everyone, and takes place at 11 a.m. Eastern on Nov. 30, 2017. The auction will be held at Centurion Auctions - 2490 Centerville Rd., Tallahassee FL 32308.
