Hilton San Bernardino Provides Home Away From Home For Boeing Employees

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Hilton San Bernardino housed Boeing employees for months at a time as the aerospace company conducted testing on its newest commercial jet, the Boeing 747-8, at the nearby San Bernardino International Airport.

The Boeing 747-8 is the largest commercial aircraft being built in the United States and is the longest passenger aircraft in the world. San Bernardino's weather conditions, local infrastructure and access to airspace made it the prime testing ground for the fourth-generation B747, and the company's staff was dedicated to ensuring the aircraft would adhere to the highest safety standards and regulations.

The Hilton San Bernardino was proud to host the 250 employees throughout the testing process and was committed to providing a home away from home for these displaced professionals.

"The Hilton not only prides itself on creating a luxurious environment for weekday corporate business trips, but also providing accommodations for social, sporting, government, long-term and extended stays," said Donna Esparza, Hilton San Bernardino's director of sales and marketing. "We were extremely honored to provide a sense of home for the Boeing employees while they were away from their homes and families, and we look forward to doing it again!"

The Hilton made sure that each of the Boeing guests felt comfortable by providing tailored services such as a "thank you" gifts of candy or chocolate every Friday, regularly arranging outings for the group to experience the area, and accommodating any special request that came up. Ultimately, Hilton's goal was for each guest to enjoy all that San Bernardino had to offer and to truly feel like part of the Hilton family.

"We have many fond memories of our time at the Hilton," said Capt. Paul Stemer, engineering test pilot at Boeing, "...and we truly appreciate having had the privilege to get to know such a great bunch of people."
