Helicopter New York City Faced With NYC City Council Bill

New York, NY, August 4, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Helicopter New York City, a helicopter tour company based out of New York, is one of many helicopter companies that may be grounded permanently if the NYC council gets their way.

More than 200 helicopter company workers stand to lose their jobs if the proposed bill is passed. The bill, proposed by the NYC council, suggests that city residents have long complained about the noise from tourist helicopters overhead. Advocates for the bill believe that removal of helicopter tourism completely is the best response to these complaints. This is not the first instance the NY City Council has gone after the tourism industry, however, having already proposed bills in the past to restrict horse carriages and UBER.

If the bill passes, hundreds of working-class New Yorkers will be out of a job, tens of millions of dollars brought in to fund local industries will be non-existent and positive corporate businesses such as Helicopter New York City will disappear from the city completely.
