Healthy Fun with Freezer Pops

Summer fun is just a freezer away with Kidz Pops: Frozen Treats on a Stick (AnswerGirls $1). It contains 20 easy to make freezer pop recipes, and can be downloaded at www.AnswerGirls.com.

Freezer pops not only taste good, but they can also be a handy tool for parents. You can use them to provide quick relief for a swollen lip, as a hassle-free way to get more liquids into your child, and to increase your child's fruit intake.

For kids, freezer pops are just a summer treat, but the bottom line is, it's pretty hard for a child to cry with an icy cold treat in his or her mouth. The following recipes are just 2 of 20 freezer pop recipes found in the new down-loadable booklet, Kidz Pops: Frozen Treats on a Stick (AnswerGirls $1). It is available exclusively from AnswerGirls.com.

Real Banana Kidz Pops

4 small bananas (speckled with brown spots)
½ cup walnuts, finely chopped
½ cup orange juice
4 Popsicle sticks

This frozen treat tastes just like banana nut bread. Peel your bananas and soak them in orange juice for 5 minutes. Roll each banana in the chopped nuts until completely covered. Push a stick into one end leaving 2 inches out for a handle. Lay these on a wax-paper lined cookie sheet, in the freezer, overnight.

Chocolate Fudge Kidz Pops

4 single serving packets hot chocolate mix
2 cups boiling water
2 cups No-Fat Cool Whip

These freezer pops rival the commercial brand for flavor, and they're easy to make. Stir the hot chocolate mix into boiling water. When completely dissolved remove from heat and stir in Cool Whip. Blend thoroughly before pouring into molds. Makes 12 small or 6 large pops.
