Greensboro Bull Riding Event Weighs In Heavy
Online, September 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - How much would you guess a bull weighs? Not just any bull though; a bull that travels and competes in the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS).
The PBR Greensboro Invitational presented by Sheplers.com is scheduled in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 28th and 29th. Kicking off the competition, PBR national sponsor Blue-Emu will host a jump and weigh in at Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C. At 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 27th, Victory Junction founder and NASCAR veteran Kyle Petty will skydive into the camp accompanied by Military Veteran Todd Love (USMC), who is a triple amputee, and retired Sgt. First Class and current President of the All Veteran Parachute Team Mike Elliott. Following the jump, two bulls competing in the weekend event will step on the scale for an official weigh in. Also weighing in, will be J.B. Mauney of Mooresville, N.C., who is currently ranked fifth in the world. The kickoff event aims to bring awareness to the PBR's focus in Greensboro: bringing service members and civilians together through the charity Mission Serve. One dollar of every ticket sold to the weekend event will go to Mission Serve.
The bulls weighing in will be 2007 PBR World Champion Bull Chicken on a Chain and Deja Blue-Emu. Both bulls are owned by Jeff Robinson of Mars Hill, N.C., who won the 2010 and 2011 PBR Stock Contractor of the Year Award.
The bull riding competition begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are available at the Greensboro Coliseum box office, www.Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets at participating Walmart locations, and by telephone at (800) 745-3000.
