Grayslake Dentist Promotes Root Canal Awareness Week

Four Lakes Dental is encouraging the public to stay educated on the warning signs and symptoms of a dying tooth.

Grayslake dentist, Dr. Amir Seifi and his dental team are promoting Root Canal Awareness Week during March 17-23, 2015. Four Lakes Dental is encouraging the public to stay educated on the warning signs and symptoms of a dying tooth.

By taking these easy and effective preventive measures, you can help reduce the risk of needing endodontic treatment:

  • Brushing and flossing on a daily basis
  • Visit our dental office at least twice per year
  • Eat a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables
  • Try to avoid foods and drinks that may contain sugars, starches and acid
  • Address any trauma to the tooth immediately

By being proactive, you can help prevent the need for an endodontic treatment. Endodontic treatment is very common and “it is estimated that 15.1 million people were treated annually for root canals in 2006.”

Dr. Seifi is highly trained in performing root canal therapy. In the instance that you may benefit from a referral to an endodontist, you will find comfort in knowing that we have established relationships with the top local providers in the area that embody similar philosophies in patient care and excellence.

Some common symptoms of needing root canal treatment include tooth decay, gum pimples, darkened teeth, tenderness/swelling of the gum area, or exposure of the tooth’s nerve. Dr. Seifi advises patients to visit her office regularly in order to detect any problems early.  If a root canal is needed, it is best to address the problem immediately in order to prevent worsening of the pain, infection or tooth decay.

Dr. Seifi emphasizes the importance of Root Canal Awareness Week. He encourages his patients to be proactive and properly maintain good oral health.  At Four Lakes Dental, our goal is to give you exceptional service beginning with your initial contact with our office all the way through treatment at every visit. Please contact our Grayslake dentist for more information or to schedule a consultation.
