Google Penguin 4.0 is Live With Real Time in Core Algorithm - Knowband Discusses Its Impact on Your eCommerce Business

After a long time, Google has finally rolled out Penguin 4.0 algorithm. With this change, Penguin's data is refreshed in real time, so changes will be visible much faster, typically taking effect shortly after we re-crawl and re-index a page.

The wait of almost 1.5 years is over and it's over in style. Now as soon as you get a spam link for your website you might see the penalty and if you remove it promptly, you will see the recovery.

These are some special tweaks that Google has come up with:

This is a major and most important update by Google since Jan2016. Lots of companies have made a lot of money on fixing Penguin penalty, but with Penguin rolled into the main algorithm, its now "disavow file" which can be managed by the webmasters to handle the spammy links to their websites. No more money investment with penalty fixing firms and much faster turnaround time when you fix the Spammy links.

Google Penguin 4.0 update is live, but it is still in rolling out phase. So, you might not see its full impact as of now. Hopefully, this won’t take long.

  • The real time System of Penguin 4.0 -  Penguin becoming a part of Google’s core algorithm was more of an unconfirmed rumor as of now. But, now it’s clear like crystal that you don’t have to wait for next Penguin update to recover your rank if you get penalized by the update. With Penguin becoming real time, Google has confirmed that changes and refreshing of rankings would become more faster now. Earlier, you had to wait for Penguin 4.0 if you were once penalized by Penguin 3.0.
  • Penguin now devalues spam- The penalties form Google will now be based on spam signals, rather than affecting the whole website. In my perception, I think the evaluation would be now more page by page rather than punishing the whole website for spammy pages.

About Google Penguin Update

Google dispatched the Penguin Update in April 2012 to better catch sites considered to spam its list items, specifically those doing as such by purchasing links or acquiring them through connection systems planned principally to help obtain Google rankings. At the point when another Penguin Update is discharged, sites that have made a move to evacuate bad links, (for example, through the disavow links tool or to expel spam may recover rankings). If you have eCommerce Magento Extensions for checking the backlinks to your website.
