Golf Is Back! Summer Swing Ready To Launch

Online, October 19, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The 2010 PGA Tour of Australasia will be back underway from October 28 when 132 professionals will re-start the season at the Western Australian Golf Club in the John Hughes Geely Nexus Risk Services WA Open.

The WA Open will be the first of two in the West and will be followed by the WA PGA Championship at Bunbury Golf Club before the action heads to Melbourne.

While the JBWere Masters will be the sole event of the end of year schedule in Melbourne, the event will again command headlines with the likes of Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Camilo Villegas and the best Australian players including Robert Allenby and Geoff Ogilvy all heading to the Victoria Golf Club.

The action will then head north to New South Wales for three weeks of golf in both regional and metropolitan areas. The Cellarbrations NSW PGA Championship at Wollongong Golf Club will precede the NSW Open hosted by Nathan Green at The Vintage Golf Club in the Hunter Valley, while the Australian Open at The Lakes in Sydney will make for a thrilling end to the New South Wales swing.

The final event of the season will be the Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca-Cola at the Hyatt Regency Coolum where the 2010 PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit champion will be awarded the Norman Von Nida Nedal.

The final two events, being the Australian Open and the Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca-Cola, will both be co-sanctioned by OneAsia for the second consecutive year ensuring some of the best Asian players will again be headed to our shores for the season finale.

Max Garske, who holds the dual role of Chief Executive Officer of the PGA of Australia and Commissioner of the PGA Tour of Australasia, said this year's schedule will again deliver superb golf with Australia's best professionals heading home to support the Tour's events.

The PGA Tour of Australasia action will get underway on October 28 when the John Hughes Geely Nexus Risk Services WA Open tees off at the spectacular Western Australian Golf Club.
