Golf Course Weather Forecasting Service

Trying to find out if you are going to get wet half way around your golf course used to be a tricky business. But this should no longer be the case with the launch of a new free service to provide rolling 3 hourly weather forecasts for golf courses.

If you are anything like me, you are a fair weather golfer. There is nothing worse than starting a round with the sun shining, only for the heavens to open when you have reached the furthest point away from the clubhouse. This kind of thing happens all of the time to me, but I do live in England after all.

What would you be willing to pay for access to an accurate golf course weather forecast? A forecasting service where you simply enter the name of the course you are going to play, and you are then presented with a forecast for the next seven days, describing the weather at 9:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00.

Well such a service is now available for free at www.golfweather.com. In the brief article below, Alex Perry from www.golfmagic.com talks about this new service.

New site for the fair weather golfer:

It has to be raining pretty hard to stop me getting out on the course. But there are millions who won't even entertain the idea of teeing off if there's even a hint of drizzle.

And it's those who will benefit most from a brand new website offering accurate detailed seven-day weather forecasts for the exact locations of golf clubs in the UK and Ireland, as well as the US, South Africa and Australia.

The free service was founded by five-handicap golfer Moshe Adir to provide a reliable and easy-to-use weather website that's focused 100% on golf.

"After suffering a bad car accident I got back into golf and became a real fair-weather golfer," admitted Mr Adir.

"I'm not embarrassed to say I would spend hours on weather websites trying to work out where was best to play, to avoid the wind largely."

"No-one provided precise weather forecasting by exact golf club locations so I set about building our own forecasting system just for golfers."

"We gather raw weather data from renowned meteorological organisations and institutions, to provide longitude and latitude location based forecasts for each golf club to get an incredibly accurate picture of what the weather is going to be like there on a seven-day rolling forecast."

Simply search the course or county where you'd like to know the forecast and you'll get a seven-day summary, listing conditions, daily high and low temperatures, wind speed and direction, daily precipitation probability and totals and an overall playability rating.

Or you can select the seven-day detailed forecast which gives additional humidity levels, shows precipitation probability and totals in shorter windows and charts the weather in three-hour cycles from 6am to 6pm.
