Online, June 19, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Goa Institute of Management will be conducting its Foundation Programme for students in its prestigious PGDM program for 2014-16. The induction programme will be held between June 20th and June 28th, and its goal is to orient students with the functioning, pedagogy and different elements of their curriculum. It will serve as the ideal platform for new students to acquaint themselves with their institute, faculty members and what's in store for them through the duration of the program.
Over the years the PGDM program offered by GIM has gained in reputation and attracts students from all over the country. This year 240 students from more than 24 states in the country will be given an in-depth look at how the program functions. These students from various educational backgrounds will have an opportunity to learn from experienced faculty members at the institute. They can also benefit from the courses that have been designed with the requirements of today's employers in mind.
As new students converge on the stunning campus of the institute in Goa, they stand to gain a lot from the carefully chalked out Foundation Programme. The week long programme has been put together with great attention to detail to ensure that students learn more about different subjects that are a part of their curriculum. One of the important elements of the programme is talk to students about Goa, which will be their second home while they complete their management education.
GIM has always strived to achieve higher standards of education to ensure that its students learn better and develop qualities that will lead to effective leadership in various organizations in the business world. And, it does that to a great extent thanks to its innovative learning techniques. The teaching pedagogy at GIM is a good mix of classroom training, practical exposure, case studies and a lot more. Students will be made aware of these techniques, including the Case Study Method during the Foundation Programme.
Overall, the personality development of students is another important goal of the institute. That's the reason it focuses on building effective communication skills for students through several endeavours throughout the year. New students will get a taste of things to come through sessions based on Communication that have also been woven in the Foundation Programme. Each of these sessions will be conducted by experienced faculty members, who the students will be working with over the next two years.
GIM has been encouraging its students to analyse, anticipate, innovate and prepare for professional challenges in their future careers. And the results have showed in its strong alumni base, which includes names like Mr. Kumar Singhee, Associate Director, UBS, Sagnik Ghosh, VP Marketing, Axis Bank Ltd., Apoorv Gulati, Deputy Manager, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and many more. This year, 240 hopefuls will be dreaming of adding their names to the esteemed list and the Foundation Programme is where it will all begin.
