GlobeAir Is The First Company In The World Achieving The Wyvern Standard As Very Light Jet Company

As marketing leader in this new business aviation industry it is remarkable that GlobeAir has been achieved as VLJ operator this high level standard within two years of operation, which is unique in this industry.

The Wyvern StandardTM is a leading audit standard developed in cooperation with the most sophisticated and demanding corporate flight departments in the world that far exceeds the regulatory requirements for air charter flight operations and maintenance.

Bernhard Fragner, CEO GlobeAir AG: „Wyvern stands for one of the highest safety and quality standards in business aviation. Achieving this standard needs huge effort and hard work to get to. GlobeAir is offering private jet service in a premium market. Customers using services in a premium market have the right to ask for the highest safety and quality standards. GlobeAir is very proud to offer its services according these standards and even beyond. As CEO of GlobeAir I am totally convinced, that on the mid and long run only those will succeed, who have fully implemented these standards and live it day by day, the clients will feel it. GlobeAir is already certified today. My team did a great job. GlobeAir will continue to set focus on offering highest service level of quality and safety."

GlobeAir has been approved by Wyvern, passing successfully all the process on December 13th, 2010, thanks to the help of Georg Bernhofer, GlobeAir Ìs go-to person for company procedures in compliance with European regulations (EU-OPS) and Flight Operations Manager that give us more details below.

Who sets the standards?
During an on-site safety audit, also known as a safety evaluation, Part 135 charter operators are measured against the Wyvern Operating Standards, which far exceed government regulatory oversight. The Wyvern Operating Standards are an enhanced set of safety measurement criterion, which were developed over the years in cooperation with The Wyvern Customer Advisory Board. CAB's panel consists of representatives from the most sophisticated, and demanding corporate flight departments in the world.

Does The Wyvern Standard make a real difference in safety?
Yes, for example, recognition of the absolute necessity for experienced, well-trained pilots led to the development of Wyvern's flight crew requirements. The Wyvern Operating StandardsTM represents a robust template of meaningful expectations for safe flight.

What about Wyvern's auditor standards?
The real strength of Wyvern's safety audit programs lies in the experience, qualifications and superior training of our audit teams. Wyvern assigns two specialists to every audit, one for operations and one for maintenance. The typical Wyvern operations auditor is an ATP rated pilot, with thousands of relevant flight hours, and experience in both management and quality assurance. As for maintenance auditors, we select only those auditors who have obtained an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate, with Inspection Authority, and like their counterparts in operations, almost all have extensive management experience.

Why does Wyvern have pilot standards?
Recognition of the absolute necessity for experienced, well-trained pilots led to the development of Wyvern's flight crew requirements. Wyvern-qualified pilots meet standards that are far more stringent that regulatory minimum requirements.

GlobeAir is proud to inform about the value of its new certification that can be easily explained in the following statistical summaries:

Of all the 2,034 FAR Part 135 fatalities from January 1991 to August 2010, none (0.00%) involved a Wyvern- recommended aircraft or aircrew. Of all the 1,719 Part 135 accidents from the same period, only two of those non-fatal accidents were attributable to Wyvern recommended operator aircraft. Looking at just Part 135 turbine accidents from August 2005 to August 2010, jets flying charter flights incurred 5 fatal accidents and 22 fatalities-but not one of these jet fatalities occurred on a Wyvern-compliant flight.
