Get Social With The New Samsung Wave Smartphone

Samsung Social Hub brings all your contacts together in the ultimate inbox on the Samsung Wave

SYDNEY, Australia - July 22, 2010 - With so many ways to connect with friends and family today, it can sometimes be hard to keep track of it all! The Samsung Wave smartphone brings all of your most used applications including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace together, so you can keep in touch with the world around you more efficiently than ever before. Featuring an incredibly bright screen combined with a sleek and stylish design, the Samsung Wave will become your new 'can't live without' companion.

Samsung Social Hub - becoming the ultimate socialite
Samsung Social Hub, a key feature of the Samsung Wave, is the ultimate inbox that brings all of your contacts and networks together in one, easy to manage place. This simple to set-up and intuitive inbox integrates your contact information and activities across Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, email and instant messaging (IM) accounts.

Samsung Social Hub captures all of the information from each of your contacts, so you can see your communication history, a live feed of the current activity across all your social networks, as well as photos posted by each of your friends. Instantly see from your contacts who is on IM, either on their PC or mobile, so you can start chatting immediately. You can even access multiple calendars, including Facebook, in the same calendar view, colour coded to help you easily distinguish work appointments from play!

The brightest screen - where seeing is believing
The amazingly bright 3.3" Super AMOLED screen of the Samsung Wave brings the best of Samsung's TV technology to the mobile phone. The beautiful high definition display provides the perfect environment to read your favourite eBooks, play games, browse the internet, watch YouTube videos or record, edit and playback video. The bright screen also has less reflection when used outdoors and wide viewing angles so your friends can stand next to you to view your latest Facebook pictures or video.
Applications and updates at your fingertips
The Samsung Wave makes choosing your own menus, home page and other content simple. For social media fanatics there is a range of Samsung Widgets to keep you in the know. The Feeds & Updates widget draws information from your social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter, so you receive constant updates on your phone from these sites with no need to log in and check each site. The Birthday Calendar widget displays up and coming birthdays according to Facebook profiles, to ensure no friends' birthdays are missed.

The Buddies Now widget displays contacts you've classified as your favourites for quick and easy access to all of the information stored in their contact list, inclusive of photo albums, recent activities and conversation history. You can also call, text or email them directly from the home screen.

Samsung Apps - Discover, experience, enhance
The Samsung Wave allows you to simply and easily download a range of both free and paid for quality applications from the Samsung Apps store. Samsung Apps is a multi-device global application store, already available on Samsung TVs and now on smartphones, starting with the Samsung Wave. There's a broad selection of apps that are designed to suit every lifestyle - from games to navigation, social networking to eBooks and health and lifestyle apps. Over 1,000 apps will be available at launch, with over 7,000 apps due by the end of the year.

The Samsung Wave RRP is $599 and it is available on plans across all operators from July 1st 2010, starting with Vodafone, Optus and Virgin, with a Telstra Next G™ network version launching in August.
