Gary Abud's New Book 'What Color Will It Be?' is a Vividly Illustrated Tale of a Child's Playful and Amazing Experiments That Bring Color to the World

Recent release "What Color Will It Be?" from Covenant Books author Gary Abud is a brilliant opus that invites readers to experience Scarlett's color-filled adventures that inspire the imagination.

Gary Abud, an award-winning educator, double cornea transplant recipient and loving family man. Gary Abud Jr. (author) and Liz Craft (illustrator) are both educators from the Detroit, Michigan area. They have completed their new book, “What Color Will It Be?”: an exquisite book that shares the colorful journey of Scarlett that brings joy and exudes with recreation.

When Gary had a young daughter, he was disappointed at the limited selection of books for early childhood learners that taught science in stories. This motivated him to create the "Science With Scarlett" series, inspired by his own preschool daughter Laina, after whom the character is based.

Gary wanted to take some of his favorite high school science experiments and turn them into children's stories so that kids could enjoy fun stories and colorful characters, all while learning science in an interactive way. He had the intention of focusing the first book in the series on the science of vision and making it a project that would benefit Eversight, the nonprofit organization that helps make sight-restoring cornea transplants — like the ones Gary himself received — possible.

The book is written from the perspective of Scarlett, an elementary school student and young girl scientist, and her teddy bear assistant, in rollicking verse and spirited rhyme, to invite the reader along to do experiments with them.

The book is meant to teach the science of color vision, and it can be used by parents and educators alike to engage young readers to learn science.

Gary writes, “Discover something new with Scarlett and her amazing science experiments. Scarlett invites you to mix colorful lights and ask the question, 'What color will it be?', all while learning about our amazing gift of sight and how our eyes can see the world in color.

Come along on this fun adventure and explore surprising results along the way."
