Freshest FM Is Hosting a Tribute Mix in Honor of Salsoul Records 40th Anniversary
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Salsoul records, online broadcasting site Freshest Fm will be hosting a tribute mix of the famed record label's greatest hits. Put together by Program Director, lead, DJ, and Producer Lyvio G, the mix will stream on freshestfm.com on Saturday, February 20th from 8pm to 9:20pm.
Rockville Centre, New York, February 18, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Salsoul Records, founded in 1974 by brothers, Joseph Kenneth, and Stanley Cayre, was a highly popular record label specializing in Disco, Funk, and Latin soul.
Releasing their first 12 inch in 1976, Salsoul has issued approximately 300 singles and a plethora of albums in the 70s and early 80s. Despite being affected by the crash of Disco in the late 1970s, Salsoul was one of the few labels to survive and continue to stay in business. Eventually shutting down in 1984, Salsoul was revived in 1992 as Salsoul New Generation Records, gaining popularity in the UK and Europe.
