There are millions of pets in our shelters waiting for homes and they need your help! Even if you're not looking to adopt, you can give shelter pets an online presence and help them find forever homes. Our goal is to increase the visibility of shelter pets and save lives.

Second Chance Pet Photography has started a project to provide websites to rescues and shelters free. Shelter staff is busy taking care of animals and want to save time every way possible so our websites are designed to save time and making updates easy.

Most small and large shelters use Petfinder.com The virtual home of 334,375 adoptable pets from 13,723 adoption groups, to get more exposure for their adoptable animals, so we built a page that connects to petfinder and displays all the animals at their shelter. This way staff only has to enter the description and photos once.
The time spent keeping websites fresh and active means making posting every day to the blog section, posting to facebook, twiter and linkedin so people know about new pets available for adoption and see upcoming events now with one email to the website all of these are done.

Everyone want to keep up with the pets that have been adopted so we have integrated instagram.com into the website, the parents just upload images to instagram with a set #hastag and they are displayed on the website.

Pet Microchip registry is very important, and should be free so we are working on integrating one of the best free registries into the website. Most people aren't aware that according to studies published in the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) over 40% of pets that are implanted with microchips cannot be found in a pet registry database anywhere.

Donations are the main stay for many small rescues and shelters so we picked a very stable online payment processing company. That has worked hard to make the non-profit donations easy and user friendly. With things like adding an offline donation so the balance reflected on the amount raised and progress widgets is correct. The donor information you add there will also be included in the Donor list. The done list can be downloaded to update your mailing list. Wepay has no monthly fees no minimum monthly activity and charges a small processing fee for Credit card payments: 2.9% + 30¢ and Bank account (ACH) payments: 1% +30¢. If the shelter already has a credit processing company like paypal we will use that for their website. Wepay.com also is a big part of many crowdfunding websites.

Over the next two years Second Chance Pet Photography will be scheduling a trip to each shelter and rescue for a fundraiser "Picture your Pet" to raise money for the animals.
