Free Dental Screening for Children 17 and under at Jamboree, February 08, 2015 from 10am-2pm
1920 Main Street, Suite 970, Irvine, CA 92614, January 28, 2015 (Newswire.com) - National Children Dental Health Month (NCDHM) is dedicated towards raising awareness towards the significance of dental health. Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors NCDHM does a campaign about oral health awareness that reaches millions of families. Although dental caries is almost completely preventable, it is actually one of the most common chronic diseases in kids. Even though overall rates of dental cavities have lessened over the last couple of decades, tooth decay has risen in preschool aged children over the past few years. Over 40 percent of children between the ages of 2 – 11 have had a cavity in their primary (baby) teeth. Additionally, more than two-thirds of teens from age 16 – 19 have had a cavity in their permanent teeth.
The ADA suggests routine dental check-ups every six months. Your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday. Standard dental examinations uncover complications that may be handled in the early stages when damages are minimal, as well as much simpler and easier.
In support of the NCDHM, the team at Smile Wide Dental will be offering free dental screenings on Sunday, February 08th between hours of 10am-2pm for children 17 and under. They will be distributing goodie bags to children, and there will be a drawing for a gift basket with oral care services and products valued at over $1,000.
Smile Wide’s board certified pediatric dentists and orthodontists will be present to perform the dental screenings. More importantly they will provide a positive dental experience for the children in an effort to ensure they truly enjoy themselves.
Smile Wide strives to deliver the best standard of care in the industry by always doing what’s best for patients. You can trust that we will take care of you and your family.
Parents are urged to attend. No appointment is necessary, and screenings take approximately 15 minutes.
